the bee

There was a solitary bee who was wondering aloft merrily from place to place. He was alone but free and happy, his minds were clean and his heart stood still. One day he came across a vast field with so many roses. The sweet fragrance and the soft splendid beauty enticed him badly. Hereafter his heart was no more still, against his rib cage the heart would throb,  by and by his heart beat would synchronize with the elegant dance of the roses in the wind.  Every day he flew near to the roses ,he felt so happy nearby them.  Days ran into weeks and so on, he continued to pay them visit.  They were all happy, cherished together.  The roses were not only beautiful but soft and alluringly sweet. They were very courteous and generous. In fact when he saw them for the first time, he was shy and reluctant to get near them but they weren't. He was lost in amenities provided by those roses, longer he spent near them deeper he became inseparable. Many days passed in the same order, they cont

Farewell to Mr. Towla.

Today we the staff, chaired by the Program Director has come together to bid farewell to Mr.Towla. He has served for the last 32 years in the civil service; older than the age of the most of the staff here. Due to the covid-19 situation and subsequent directives from the government, we could not organize the formal gathering for his farewell. So at one point it incites a sense of an embarrassment as well as an resentment for this discrepancy. As for Mr.Towla, he has started his career from as a lab technician at Paro and came a very long way this far. Today as he retires to home, he is overwhelmed with emotions. He is one of the most silent staff and who did not know how to deny things. Man of few words but larger actions. His retirement itself is a testament how he has humbly served the nation to his ability. Today, there are many incidences of people being sacked out in connection with corruption, fund embezzlement or any other sorts of unhealthy practices. In the contrary, he

A silent thief

I was driving alone from Tphu to Pling . On the way a man carrying backpack hailed at my car for a lift . The weather looks overcasted and brimmed with rain that would explode anytime. I pulled over My car to accommodate him, beside I thought it would be a good past time to have a company for conversation along. Usually I travel atleast with one company, child or elder because it would keep me alert and awake. I have heard lot of horrifying accidents about an exhausted driver or simply falling asleep while driving. I unlocked the door on the back seat and gestured him to hop in. He looked overwhelmed and relieved. Thus the journey continued. He was a farmer and was also heading to Pling to see his pregnant daughter who has just delivered her baby the other night. He was pretty anxious and excited to hear the news. He was a decent talker and humble in manner. We conversed on so many things. They were from humble background, his daughter worked as a waitress in one of hotel in P

Last year upon the request of the Army Wefare Project(AWP) Gelephu, I have helped them in the landscaping and gardening in front of their factory. Well, time has passed by so rapidly that I hardly bothered to recollect the transformation taking place in their garden.  Although it would be too ambitious on my part to say call it landscaping works since it was just a basic plantation works. Given, not being technical in floriculture field they have limited knowhow with regards to proper choice of plants in their garden. Usually all kinds of plants ranging from perennials to annuals , trees are placed together which unfortunately makes surrounding look unplanned and disorganized.  I have created basin around the tree base; my  first work to start with. There were many giant trees right in the front of their office. Coleus and hydrangeas were planted in it. I chose shade-loving plants since the trees were mostly evergreen with massive canopy. I still remember their contemptuous look w
