New place new life and new beginning

Its almost running two months since i stepped inside the campus of National Service Academy Project Jamtsholing , Samtse. I still find difficult to believe that I am here working as Bio-aesthetic Officer . Every thing happened in fast. Packing things and leaving gelephu was quite emotional. So many fond memories with amazing colleagues have been created there , hence it was heart clenching to leave all those behind. Series of farewell showered by them warmed my heart beyond measures. I remain truly thankful to them. But destination is matter of choice than a chance or perhaps both. This post of bio-aesthetic officer seems to have awaited me all this while. So many things have already transpired for this post and eventually it has offered itself to me. Perhaps , god knew my passion for flowers and heard prayers that I occasionally offer. More importantly, the journey that lies ahead is what makes me anxious . Massive project and directly accountable to His Majesty The King. This pr...

The summer

The night is over casted with rain soaked clouds. A short flashes of the lightening; let us see the dark clouds floating across the sky. It has not been long since there was a heavy rain earlier but for now the sky seems to have put on a halt. There are lot of frogs around , swimming in the puddle formed by the rain and mostly in the water-filled paddy fields. These frogs make so much of noises as though they would not get chance to croak from tomorrow. Except for them otherwise the night would have been very quiet. Some say that the frogs in actual are singing to seek an attention of their partners. But somewhere afar their noise could have already awaken a sleeping snake or a wondering owl. In a moment the rain starts its show , beating down on the road and on the fields. Pot holes on the road starts filling up forming multiple puddles while the Paddy fields are turned into a big lake. The water runs down the road creating a stream and carrying everything it could on its way. It ...

covid -19 duty

A little drizzle is falling on the roof of our hut, As silent as a cat, prowling for a cat. It is dead of night and the silence is surreal, An owl perched atop the lamppost is eerie. Occasionally making flight to catch those helpless moth, Gathering around the light from the lamppost. The drizzle has put out the fire that I have lighted, The last ember from the burnt bamboo is dead too. Any attempt to rekindle the fire would be futile Making it more opportunistic for the snakes, rodents or elephants in case if they desire to make a rampage. Anyway that's just my imagination running wild, This might happen or might not . There is a bigger fear that we stay awake for, Unprecedented help that the nation calls for. To fortify against the entry of covid- 19 that is lurking around, it must be contained like a fire when it is small. A beam of torch lights flickers from the other outpost, I do the same to notify them that we are wake. So far so good and no sign of any unauthorized trespass...

the bee

There was a solitary bee who was wondering aloft merrily from place to place. He was alone but free and happy, his minds were clean and his heart stood still. One day he came across a vast field with so many roses. The sweet fragrance and the soft splendid beauty enticed him badly. Hereafter his heart was no more still, against his rib cage the heart would throb,  by and by his heart beat would synchronize with the elegant dance of the roses in the wind.  Every day he flew near to the roses ,he felt so happy nearby them.  Days ran into weeks and so on, he continued to pay them visit.  They were all happy, cherished together.  The roses were not only beautiful but soft and alluringly sweet. They were very courteous and generous. In fact when he saw them for the first time, he was shy and reluctant to get near them but they weren't. He was lost in amenities provided by those roses, longer he spent near them deeper he became inseparable. Many days passed in the s...

Farewell to Mr. Towla.

Today we the staff, chaired by the Program Director has come together to bid farewell to Mr.Towla. He has served for the last 32 years in the civil service; older than the age of the most of the staff here. Due to the covid-19 situation and subsequent directives from the government, we could not organize the formal gathering for his farewell. So at one point it incites a sense of an embarrassment as well as an resentment for this discrepancy. As for Mr.Towla, he has started his career from as a lab technician at Paro and came a very long way this far. Today as he retires to home, he is overwhelmed with emotions. He is one of the most silent staff and who did not know how to deny things. Man of few words but larger actions. His retirement itself is a testament how he has humbly served the nation to his ability. Today, there are many incidences of people being sacked out in connection with corruption, fund embezzlement or any other sorts of unhealthy practices. In the contrary, he...

A silent thief

I was driving alone from Tphu to Pling . On the way a man carrying backpack hailed at my car for a lift . The weather looks overcasted and brimmed with rain that would explode anytime. I pulled over My car to accommodate him, beside I thought it would be a good past time to have a company for conversation along. Usually I travel atleast with one company, child or elder because it would keep me alert and awake. I have heard lot of horrifying accidents about an exhausted driver or simply falling asleep while driving. I unlocked the door on the back seat and gestured him to hop in. He looked overwhelmed and relieved. Thus the journey continued. He was a farmer and was also heading to Pling to see his pregnant daughter who has just delivered her baby the other night. He was pretty anxious and excited to hear the news. He was a decent talker and humble in manner. We conversed on so many things. They were from humble background, his daughter worked as a waitress in one of hotel in P...

Blooming

Image
Last year upon the request of the Army Wefare Project(AWP) Gelephu, I have helped them in the landscaping and gardening in front of their factory. Well, time has passed by so rapidly that I hardly bothered to recollect the transformation taking place in their garden.  Although it would be too ambitious on my part to say call it landscaping works since it was just a basic plantation works. Given, not being technical in floriculture field they have limited knowhow with regards to proper choice of plants in their garden. Usually all kinds of plants ranging from perennials to annuals , trees are placed together which unfortunately makes surrounding look unplanned and disorganized.  I have created basin around the tree base; my  first work to start with. There were many giant trees right in the front of their office. Coleus and hydrangeas were planted in it. I chose shade-loving plants since the trees were mostly evergreen with massive canopy. I still remember their conte...

Life is a blank page, While, all I got is an empty pen. Off course I can scribble something, But it will still be blank anyway .

Bliss

Image
Dusty clouds like an ignorance, Envelops our mind thin or thick. Only wind to clear away, are the prayers invoking the almighty. So as the prayers on the radio, enlivens our heart and mind. Wiping dirts of defilements, Cleanse as a ladle of water. Just as the rays kissing the curtains, Warmth of happiness abounds in the heart. Like a flute played by an orphan cowboy, melodious does a bird on the tree chirps. While the mind is happy and empty, every sight is splendid so is every sound soothing.

Spring Harbinger

Image
Rain is falling outside, Noise I could hear from inside. I forgot my umbrella at the office, Grounded and my running late. Leaves are rustling , a shower after this long winter. Grasses and the roads are wet, They have been dry and dusty for long. Freshness has begun and lushness is back. The parrots are making its flight, wet and away from the corn fields. Little droplets sliding down the petals, of the roses heralding the onset of a spring.

Longing

Image
You will forget the summer rain, Until the summer heat tans your skin again. You will forget the road, Until you miss your hamlet again . You will forget the lyrics, Until you hear the music again. You will forget the moon lit night , Until you walk in darkness again . You will forget the taste of food, Until the hunger starves you again. You will forget the taste of water , Until the thirst strikes you again. You will forget the taste of tears, Until your heart breaks down again . You will forget the endearing words of your love, Until you have to face the wrath again . You will forget that you will age while you are young , Until you become old and cannot go back again. Hence , there is nothing you cannot forget, Until that nothing turns into something again. # minds cannot be quarantined #Corono virus

Broken

Behind her rose red lips, Hidden is a secrets of chest. Veiled with softness and gentleness, Mystery it remain behind it. Her words so kind and dear, Touched and always I endear. Like a bee lost to a rose, So am I lost into her. While chest hidden behind her lips, Secrets locked inside it. Secrets that buried her lies, Politeness that veiled her ploy. Beats of my heart , Louder than its otherwise. Juggled in between her hands, My hearts like a ball. The secrets in her chest , Is the betrayal of my heart . Kindness in her words, Is a deception she imposed.

The Necklace , Alexdra Dumas

The necklace by Alexandra Dumas The novel which is over 700 pages would probably be one of the most epic tragedy novel from his times. Fiction or a real history , I found this very amazing and worth piece to while away my lousy times. Initially with so many characters and plots , I had tough time distinguishing them individually. In fact the whole climax and intensity unfolds almost only from the mid and in the last.  All in all a very touching piece from the Author and equally impressed on my first time reading of his books.  In short, the story is about a queen who is very beautiful, noble and generous lady. Like in court anywhere, there are also considerable numbers of people at her service, Each holding different position and duty. Amongst them , a lady who is wicked but smart and intelligent steals trust of the queen and ultimately stabs her from behind. She is the real swindler in her plot to steal the priceless necklace. Her only intent to grab the necklace but ...

To dear to forget

Image
Housed beneath the teak woods, On the hill overviewing the Samdrup Jongkhar city. Leaves are afresh dewing with  morning raindrops, Except for monkeys , rest is simply quite. A bygone weeks , busy and sweaty days, Lovely , cheerful and diligent friends . Hectic days yet splendid moments behold, There is a longing which makes me cold. Somewhere afar , i can feel her patience waits, Sooner I may return to you arms . Happy I am coming home, But so long as I may hear the dungsam river sings. I may also yearn her voice until I come back again . #random thoughts.

The spring

Spring has unfolded her elegance, Beauty to flaunt yet so ephemeral. Thin clouds sails like a ship across, Clinging on its rim a raindrop like tears. It's complex and its hard to gather, Beneath the sky, here I stand. Like a dumb, lost into the sky. There is a moon shimmering over the river, Her beauty spreading like a ripple. My own reflection making me cripple, Into it, I wish to disappear forever. Perhaps I may hear it clear, The sorrow she bewails on her journey far, The silhouette of the flags on the distant hill, The lonely star twinkling from the north. These sights make me sink in despair, And in the darkness, I can hear the nightingale sob. It springs yet the night is still cold, Missing her hand that I used to hold. There it stands the bridge where we first met, The only witness was the river that flows underneath. Long days have gone since the last spring, Hoping this time a good moment's she may bring. ...

Favourtism

I pulled back the curtain and saw my sister playing outside. Her playmate was the little girl from the next door. They look playful and happy despite heavy sunshine. Meanwhile, I took to the fridge and look for something to eat or drink and to give to the happy playmates outside. I forgot, there was mango that I bought yesterday. It was packed inside a plastic bag. I observed closely and at length picked the biggest one. I relished the piece.Perhaps because of hot weather outside and also my empty stomach it tasted amazing like never before. There was two more left in the plastic. I wanted to give to those kids and went outside. I called the two passionate playmates. I can see sweats smearing down their face. They looked tired but their smile defied their tiredness. They ran toward me seeing what's in my hand. More than anything I saw an innocent soul in their eyes, uncorrupted by any defilements such as jealousy, greed and hypocrisy which otherwise is becoming cancerous to so...

The officer

It's was a longstanding dream of my parents to pursue my career in the military. Inspired by their motivation and support , I too gradually developed affinity for working as a police officer. Most of the time it was my best friend who never failed to encourage me in the pursuit of my dream. 4 years passed in the college , came proudly graduated. But the pride was short-lived. Because I was like thrown into the boxing ring and made to fight without any training , skills . Assuming all graduates as contestant for the fight, chances for loosing my tooth,or nose was more than wining the fight. Similarly, chances of getting job for me was getting dimmer by then. Well, one day I saw a vacancy for police officer in the news paper. It caught my attention immediately ,I applied for the vacancy without a seconds delay. After all that was what I awaited for long time and to slip it away would be disaster to me . Everything happened very rapidly, soon I was shortlisted and sat for...

Translation of folksongs

On the hem of the sky and clouds, An endearing pearl of sun. Without the evil clutch of eclipses, Abounds with joy and Happiness. On the hem of a peak and snow linings, The magnificent Mystical snow lion . Without the harshness of blizzards, Abounds with joy and happiness. On the hem of pasture and brook, The amazingly beautiful deer. Without the enmity of the hounds, Abounds with joy and Happiness

an orphan

An  orphanage is not visible on her face to know her inner plight. I was with some of my colleagues chatting over a cup of tea in the shop. It was silent except for few customer at the other end engrossed in their chat as well. Abruptly, I heard a child wail that created a slight commotion outside .  Tempted, craned my neck toward the window and observed what was happening. A small girl was being reprimanded by a woman whom I suppose was her mom. The woman seems to have l ost all her nerves and she was looking fearsome. She smacked the girl two or three times on her back and the girl started to sob. Head drooped low,she wiped her tears with the end of her sleeves. The woman commanded her to go to house at once. Submissively she left the spot. I have seen the kid few times around, sometimes playing with friends and other ocassion playing with the dogs. Although, something about her look did evoke some instinct within me . Perhaps a sense of curiosity or otherwise i being...
